"Not one iota” means “not the slightest amount” according to Wikipedia and quite an apt name for our
wee group as we do not take their caring contribution to our ORS children for granted - not one iota
We are blessed with incredible teacher aides who work alongside our children.
Our first meeting for the year was Tuesday 15 April. We discussed the ORS Timetable - how and why it may change along with Teacher Aide hours that are both organised by the management team of the school.
We agreed to use the new handwriting resource purchased "Write from the Start" that Daphne shared at a Support Staff Meeting and we will display Learning Intentions Term 2 once decided for our ORS kids.
Lisa offered Training for Clicker 5 if required and will talk to Daphne about Steps Training. She also distributed a handy handout "A Helping Hand To Develop Language" from MOE showing the 4 statement 1 question technique. Suzanne presented a list of topics she will cover in the afternoons for My Time.
My Time will be 1.50 - 2.20. Half an hour with all the kids together. Looks like the kids are going to do lots of relevant, fun things next term appropriate to their learning needs. Lisa offered to help with resources.
2011 - 2013
Our first I.O.T.A. meeting was Friday 9 December 2011. We looked at 2012 Goals, Progress Sheets, Communication Opportunities, Communication with Parents and Resources.
Our second I.O.T.A. meeting was Tuesday 20 March 2012. We looked at DABA Time and planned out the activities for the remainder of the year, (see DABA Time page for the results) and Resources.
Our third I.O.T.A. meeting was Wednesday 27 June 2012. Daphne and Suzanne shared their E.L.A. Course work with us. They're making an Olympic Pack. We organised DABA Time for next term and Resources.
Our fourth IOTA meeting was Tuesday 25 September 2012. We organised DABA Time for next term and discussed resources and strategies we use with our ors children. Joy shared helpful book resources.
Our fifth IOTA meeting was Tuesday 4 December 2012. We discussed the Teacher Aid Observations we had this term. We looked at the ORS Room resources available and the ORS Room Website.
Our last IOTA Meeting was Tuesday 16 April 2013. We organised DABA Time for next term - Healthy Living. Rhonda shared resources she found helpful. Daphne reminded us about IPad training available.
